JESUS WAS NOT A SOCIALIST

In a desperate bid to gain popularity for this ideology, young leftists now claim Jesus was a socialist.  In this blog, I aim to show you why that is an impossible and illogical claim.

Let’s not waste time reading an economist’s definition of socialism.  Since socialism has never worked, it is not entitled to an intellectual definition.  But some say that Denmark is proof that socialism works.

However There is a reason the prime minister of Denmark stated in 2015 at the Kennedy School of Government, “I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore, I would like to make one thing clear: Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy.”

One of the best descriptions of socialism is this one from Kayleigh Mc Enany who said, “In the last century, socialism and communism proved to be bankrupt ideologies that crippled economies, impoverished millions, destroyed personal freedom, brought dictators to power, sparked wars and turned millions of people into refugees fleeing their home countries to seek freedom in the U.S. and elsewhere.

Nations in Eastern Europe abandoned the failed ideologies. The Soviet Union broke up. And even Russia and China were forced to adopt some free market practices to improve their economies and the lives of their people.”

To see what I mean ask any socialist this one question: How are you going to pay for it? Prepare the blank stare.  Here’s Jesus on that issue:  Luke 14: 28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?29 For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, 30 saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’

Jesus would heartily condemn any scheme that is oblivious to cost.

Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez proposes Medicare for all (Bernie Sanders’ last proposed plan along these lines cost an additional $1.4 trillion per year), a federal jobs guarantee, tuition free college for everyone, repealing the First Amendment, abolishing ICE, and government spending to end an oil-based economy. She’s a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, a group so radical that their New York branch proposes abolishing profits.

Refusing to face the cost is a cornerstone of Bernie Sanders’ road show.  Take for example his fantasy about Medicare for everyone.  Even a left-leaning study group admitted it would cost $34 trillion.  Doubling everyone’s taxes would not make a dent in this single program.

(Did you know that Sanders was once kicked out of a commune for refusing to work?  How against work must you be when hippies think you are lazy?)

But there is the dark side of socialism that is in total opposition to Jesus.  Jesus taught giving—heart giving.  Socialism kills the grace of giving.

Dorothy Sayers, a close friend of C.S. Lewis, and an Anglican Theologian said this, “The difference is, with the true church support is a Gospel concern with gifts of compassion and care; with government it is a legal issue and the money is exacted from the rich in taxes. The sad consequence is that love is thereby eliminated and replaced by law and civic duty.” Socialism indeed kills love.

Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” -Luke 6:38  He taught giving from the heart not forced redistribution of wealth.

Ben Shapiro summed it up, “Socialism is an Immoral, evil, unfair, discriminatory and disgusting system.  “Socialism is bad because socialism is tyranny. Not ‘it’s an aspect of tyranny.’ Socialism itself is tyranny.”   How could Jesus be a socialist?

amen Like having a store and giving everything away for free, pretty soon no body going to have any thing.

So true and evil to think that it would ever work

“If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:”

Oh Mario, this part was so good I cracked up with laughter!?…You wrote” (Did you know that Sanders was once kicked out of a commune for refusing to work? How against work must you be when hippies think you are lazy?)”
Additionally wasn’t it Bernie Sanders with help from his spouse, that erroneously bilked large sums of money from a school they were involved with?…or some such monetary scandal. I’m so glad to see you Mario, speak to this issue it greatly infiltrated my life about 5 years ago. When Barack Obama was president, my relative whom I love tremendously and has been a liberal Dem for years, referred to Jesus as a kind of first fruits of socialists. I know my relative believes in Jesus Christ and loves Him, but somehow this type of thinking is not a stretch for those who say they love Christ and are civilly adhering to liberal party politics. My sense is that they’re extremely confused people who’ve had their spiritual maturative development stunted.

Thank you! I have thought that a good replacement for our present economics in the millennium will be what I call a “giving economy.” Different in that love will prevail as we help each other to accomplish great dreams. Having a heart to serve is way different from being forced to give.

Mario writes: “How against work must you be when hippies think you are lazy?”

Hi Mario! I got up this morning, reading this – I almost fell off the chair laughing. This one line is BETTER than my morning coffee! And of course, you are SPOT ON!

Thank you, once again for your thoughtful response against all the nonsense that we are seeing in our great land…and of course, you know all of this will come to naught. These characters may try to push the false and failing premise of Socialism, but they will fail in the face of God’s chosen man of the hour, our President Trump. Trump will literally TRUMP them all!

It is God who will cause a curious thing to happen . . .

President Trump will TRUMP with so much work, they won’t know what to do with it. Trump will TRUMP them with so much prosperity it will come out of their ears that literally their own Great grandparents will have the strength of eagles, putting them to shame and provoking them to jealousy so that they will see the folly of socialism and begin to look on their future with more hope of getting some skin in the game through gainful employment!
Trump will restore this nation to where God wants it to be and the young will only look on in baffled wonderment, shaking the socialistic dust from their feet and move forward through sheer inspiration of a CAN-DO-ATTITUDE!

    Amen and Amen!

Jeannie I love your comment. Thank you! You are right on point!

There is ALSO scripture that says if you don’t work, you don’t eat! That makes it pretty clear that somebody else isn’t responsible for taking care of people who can work, but choose to be on the government dole instead!

To imply that Jesus was a socialist is a matter of ignorance. Jesus Christ and Karl Marx have nothing in common. One was God In the Flesh and the other a strong atheist. Socialism is diabolically opposed to Christianity. As stated in your blog Christianity is focus on giving whereas socialism is focused on getting. One of the main emphasis on socialism is to abolish all religions especially Christianity, Das kapital.

God bless you! Great exclamation on

HA HA HA Still laughing about this line. “How against work must you be when hippies think you are lazy?”
    Thanks Mario

Socialists are screaming that Trump wants to hand the US over to Russia-for what reason, they never say. Must be hard to come up with a reason that a total Capitalist like Donald Trump would want to hand the country over to someone who thinks like a socialist/communist and governs that way also (Putin). Do these people ever actually think?

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH IN ISRAEL, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA & THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD WAS DEFINITELY +++NOT A SOCIALIST+++; BUT, A TRUE HOLY BIBLE/BIBLICAL:

    “HE OWNS THE CATTLE ON A THOUSAND HILLS, THE WEALTH IN EVERY LAND . . . . . . . . . . . . ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Man’s first post-diluvian attempt at a Socialist style Agrarian society took place on the plains of Shinar. An attempt to make a utopian society by none other then Nimrod the mighty hunter. We all know very well what Happened there. (see Genesis chp 11)
