This is very difficult for me to write. The only reason I ever went public about my illness is it became absolutely necessary. I don’t like health updates. They seem so self-serving. Of course I want prayer, but who needs gory details?
Please read the following verses so you’ll better understand what I am about to tell you.
Philippians 2: 25 “Yet I considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, but your messenger and the one who ministered to my need; 26 since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick. 27 For indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. 28 Therefore I sent him the more eagerly, that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful. 29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such men in esteem; 30 because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.”
So much of what I want to tell you is packed in these verses.
My first point is found in verse 26: “since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.”
Epaphroditus was more concerned for those who were distressed by his illness than he was about his illness. Likewise, I only want to write to reassure anyone who has been concerned about my illness. I am deeply grateful for your prayers and your love.
So here is the latest: I can now walk for about 3-4 minutes. Doesn’t sound that great but believe me it is. I have a way to go, but I come a long,long way.
Now about my healing. Verse 27 says, “For indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him.” This is the most important thing we will ever learn about divine healing: It’s all about mercy, Paul was right to call it mercy. It is not a coincidence that blind Bartmaeus screamed, “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.”
Healing is an act of mercy no matter how much we try to make it an obligation. When I see people yell at God and badger Him about how He has to heal them I cringe. Even though my healing is progressive, I am overcome by God’s mercy on me.
Verse 30 helped me understand how I got injured. I overdid it. So did Epaphroditus. Paul makes that very clear, and then inserts a not so subtle correction on the Philippians: “because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.” Epaphroditus exhausted himself making up for what others neglected. So did I. Here’s why…
Soul winning has fallen into disfavor among some big name preachers. That is why the field is so great and the laborers are so few. But working myself into exhaustion to make up for that neglect, was not wise. But there is an even greater reason I was attacked.
Satan viciously attacked my body because of Las Vegas. I can’t let go of that fact. What did he fear would happen while I was there? Now here are the verses that explain what I am going to do.
Acts 14:2,3 says “But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren. Therefore, they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”
The word that jumped out at me in Acts 14 is the word THEREFORE. The devil tried to stop them, therefore they stayed. So here is my announcement: I am going to Las Vegas no matter what. We will do nothing else until we are done in Las Vegas.
I brought my leaders to my house and told them, “Satan has attacked me. He is telling me to stay away from Las Vegas.” Then I challenged them, “What are we going to do about it?!” They wholeheartedly agreed—Satan will not stop us from going to Las Vegas.
Then I contacted the leaders and workers in Las Vegas and told them our plan. I thought their disappointment would hurt our momentum. Instead, it has boomeranged on the devil. It has increased the size of our outreach. Now, it will be bigger, stronger and deeper than our original plan. This short delay will have devastating effects on the powers of darkness.
Allowing for more than reasonable time for my full recovery here is what we are doing:

We will open the flood gates of heaven in the abyss of human suffering in this city. Never—and I mean never—has the fire for winning souls burned so hot within me. Devil, you did your worst. Now, in Las Vegas, we will do our best.
To all of you who have sacrificed and given to this holy cause…rest assured, your seed will now produce an even greater harvest. Fasten your seat belt…things are about to get amazing.

3pm E.S.T. kept rolling thru my mind, unbelieving Jews, stirred up the Gentiles, to bring division. I’m so glad it was for you. I never find out that quick! I’m an Intercessor in the body of Christ. Believing God to bring REVIVAL and to fill you with fire & Thunder 2 Samuel22 All of it!!!!!!! Believing you are on the mend! Strength will return speedily! He healed me, He’s no respector of men! Mercy is RIGHT!!!!
