The very idea of overhearing Christ talk to the Father about you should send an eternal quiver through your soul. What would we hear Him pray?
Here’s why we need to know. Today’s disciple is facing threats that were unheard of even 10 years ago. World events are explosive. Changes are dizzying. The child of God navigates a world that can be truly frightening.
Having children and grandchildren who depend on us makes it all the more difficult. We wonder what will happen to them. How can I protect them in such a violent and unpredictable time?
For this and many other reasons we must have a relationship with God that is new and unshakable. We need faith like Daniel had in the lion’s den. We need authority like the disciples had to open prison doors. We must own a walk that conquers sickness, lack and sudden attacks.
Above all, we need to discern the works of Satan. He knows his time is short and he has broken into a frenzy to take down as many as he can.
We can rely, to a degree, on powerful preaching. We can play worship music in our prayer room and quell the dismaying emotions of this time. But we need something far more. We need something so amazing that it holds us not matter what. That my friend, is where the prayers of Jesus for us, matter most.
Here are some facts about Jesus praying for you.
He started praying for you the moment you got saved. The world can’t enjoy the benefit of His prayers. John17: 9 says, “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.
He will not stop praying for you. Hebrews 7: 25 “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” At this moment He is lifting your situation before the Father and that prayer is unending.
He prayed that Satan would not touch you. John 17: 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
He has prayed in advance of your greatest hour of testing, just as He did for Peter. Luke 22:32 “But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Here is the most important fact of Jesus praying for you: He says you are His. Let’s take a closer look at what that means. His love for you is not just tender it is fierce.
Consider the momma grizzly as she snuggles her cub. She is the essence of love. Now, try to come between her and her cub. The loving mom instantly becomes the most terrifying creature on earth. She will stop at nothing to protect her cub. Both the tender moment and the terrifying one are expressions of the same love.
Here’s the thing…that instinct is from God. The same Jesus who comforts you with unmatched tenderness turns His wrath on the evil one when you are threatened. It would be breathtaking to see the difference in His intercession before the Father when you need comfort, and when you need to be rescued from Satan’s attack.
He will not let anything come between you and Him. Paul said it this way: Romans 8:38 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
That is why I say: if you could hear Jesus praying for you in the next room, you would not fear a million enemies.

thank you Mario. I taught and posted on this months ago. The Lord revealed me how Jesus prays for us and your so right. I needed that reminder. I wanted to let you know I remember you from 30 plus yrs ago when you used to visit Portland 4 square. I had a very real encounter this week with the Holy Spirit that I had not had happen to me since my Bible college years in the 80s …the Holy Spirit was wrong then and moving…I was singing thru my hearing aids Psalm 3. I suddenly felt this fire or heat start at the top of head and rest on my right shoulder. It was hot but not burning. Powerful and comforting at the same time. I have been through a lot since January 1 when I had a second heart attack and angiograph. I have had the devil try to take me out twice in a. year. One was demonic spirit that had entered my apartment. I was typing out teaching from the word. I felt a presence chilling in the next room. I entered in that room and I felt like my head was going to explode and the ac went nuts running high with no temperature…the room was cold. I retreated back to my room and began to read the word of God. It refused to leave so I put on worship music and it stopped as my head stopped exploding inside. I finally cried out to Jesus help me. I had a friend who was awake who was preaing. I also prayed in the spirt. the next am I annointed my windows with olive oil. I see it as a conplinent the attacks. that means I am doing something right. thank youy mario for standing on the word of God.
This is so uplifting and inspiring I love it. I will keep it and read it often

Thank you for this tender, gentle reminder that Jesus is our Comforter and Protector. I needed to hear this. This has been a week of anxiety, anger, hopelessness, and fear. I know fear is false evidence appearing real.
Someone who won’t identify themselves, has subscribed me to far left organizations, and even given monies to support these organizations in my name. As a result, I am receiving requests for membership to other such organizations. This has added to my anger. It has hurt me deeply that someone obviously close to me has done this despicable thing.
I am undone.
Lord remove my anger. Replace this anger with renewed zeal and hunger for Your Word.
Lord save me from my wavering thoughts. Jesus pray for my renewed strength, faith, and trust in YOU. Your child is exhausted and spent. Refresh, renew, and accept my repentance.

This was so very good, Mario! The illustration of the mother grissly—-showing both her tenderness and fierceness to protect the one she loves shows us how we should also be, in response! Tender to those we come in contact with, but fierce to satan and the evil.
And Yesterday’s sharing of Gen. 50:20 hit just where we needed It to—-that what satan and human people given over to evil meant to harm and destroy us by, You will abundantly show through each of us, as we trust You, how You will bring it about this day (and in all the days to come) our good and for the good in those we love—-so that many will be kept alive!”

Over 40 years ago now, I was so excited when I read John 17.! It was overwhelming discovery to know He prayed for me so long ago. It was the first chapter I memorized as an adult.
Thanks Mario… Many a night when I kneel at my bedside before climbing in, I repent, saying once again I have fallen short of the Glory of God. And I say earnestly, “Lord Jesus please pray the Father in my behalf. I acknowledge You as my High Priest and Intercessor. My Advocate with the Father. I need Your mercy and forgiveness once again.” We can be so very grateful for the Master and His prayers for us, knowing the Father will always say YES! Oh thank God for evermore! Amen.

I was just reading John 17 this morning and how much Jesus loves us and how he prayed for his disciples and us who believe because of their TESTimony. To have walked with Jesus on the earth is beyond my imagination but He said ” Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe. ” That’s us and l receive the Blessing that He spoke!

Thank you thank you thank you ,i really needed this today ,i was backslid and recomitted my life about 10 months ago ,and ive struggled alot but i wont let go of Jesus ,i know you cannot go on feelings but by faith only ,but i feel like God doesnt hear me ,and that I’m only going thru the motions ,i recently got a new King James study Bible,Jimmy Swaggarts expositor Bible he breaks down each verse to make it easier to understand ,so I really like reading now and its really opening the Bible up to me more now than ever .Could you please pray for me that my faith grows i want a close walk with the Lord ,I want to be of use to the lord i want to do something Im disabled by Rhuematoid arthritis,osteo arthritis,scoliosis,degenerate disc disease,fibromyalgia,neuropathy,spinal stenosis and i deal with really horrible chronic pain ? I dont go out except to the dr and the pharmacy ,my church is open but i have no way to get there ,i follow you and watch Jimmy Swaggard ,read and pray listen to good christian music and follow another pastor and watch church services on line .Love your post ,love watching the Victory channel ,and so appreciative of what you do so thank you from the bottom of my heart and God bless you brother.

You and JESUS with a JOHN CHAPTER 21 moment. “Follow me”
What I love about this chapter is the disciples saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus was cooking for them, showing them some love.
We see Jesus as a loyal friend, encouraging you to follow him, don’t give up, trust him. He would pray for you to have his heartbeat and to love and encourage his children as you love and encourage your kids, family, and friends. Show this world the love of Jesus. Cook for someone, sit down, listen, pray, and they will never forget Jesus’s love you showed in a time of need.

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”

This is such a timely word. I am feeling very shaken and disheartened so much so that I couldn’t ask people to pray for me. The only thing I knew to do was to ask Jesus to keep praying for me; something I have never done until the beginning of this week. And this post confirms that I was on the right track.
Personally, I felt I needed a prayer that was far greater than any human could mutter and then I remembered Jesus saying He would pray for us and that He prayed for Peter and that’s where I turned.

This is very good but there is one thing that I disagree with: that Jesus started praying for us the moment that we got saved. I believe that Jesus has prayed for us when we were 1st conceived in our mothers womb. Blessings. Judy Brown

Thank you so very much for posting daily that which the Lord has laid upon your heart to share. You continually strengthen my faith in God above all else that is going on in the world around me and in my nation. I am preparing for the harvest as so many broken ones will need love, compassion, and a child of God to teach them how loved they are by Jesus as he leads them closer to him. Brother Mario – this was such a profound and uplifting message. Just the thought of Jesus praying for me in the next room, humbles my soul. Thank you for such beautiful reflections on our Lord and what the word says about Jesus praying for his children. I truly believe all will be well with my soul, no matter what our Father decides to allow us to walk through. Remember, if he brings us to it, he will take us through it. We serve a victorious King.
