The next few days will be very dark for America. Experts say we will see losses such as we have not seen since the Second World War. As horrendous as that statement is, there is something else you must realize. You can’t dwell on the frightening images you will see on cable news. You can’t cave in to the hysteria of this coming week. There is something extremely important you must take care of.
After you have taken every precaution necessary for remaining safe—after you have settled it in your soul to remain strong in the Lord, wholly trusting in Him, it will be time for you to fight back.
Everything in me tells me these are the most important days you will know in our lifetime. Waste them, and it will be the greatest regret of your life.
Turn your days at home into the most important breakthrough ever. Turn feelings of helplessness into fuel for an amazing outcome. These are days to let God do a shocking new work inside you.
It all begins with the story of Paul being arrested and put in prison. Satan put Paul in prison, intending to inflict massive damage on Christianity. He thought Paul could no longer win souls, and he could not teach the fledgling churches that desperately needed his Apostleship. In fact, he couldn’t do anything…except for one thing.
He began writing. And writing would be the most devastating thing Paul would ever do to Satan’s kingdom. If Paul hadn’t been confined, he might never have had the time to write. How could he possibly imagine his writings would impact billions? Paul ended up writing 60% of the New Testament. Selah.
Jailing Paul was the stupidest mistake Satan ever made, besides crucifying Christ. Now let me show you how to make this confinement in your home, his next major mistake.
1. Model faith to your children. Settle it in your soul that God will pay your bills, protect your job and restore what you have lost. Don’t speak fear and doubt in your home! The greatest lesson you will ever model for your children—and the greatest gift you will ever leave to them—is to confess that everything that has been lost will be restored. Because when this is over and God comes through—as you know He will—they will remember and apply these lessons in their lives, whenever they are threatened. The greatest thing your children can watch you do is trust in God.
2. Read the Bible. Dump all the questionable prophetic words and conspiracy theories. Some in the prophetic camp are losing credibility because they foolishly predicted this plague would leave suddenly. Some even set a date—one that will likely prove them wrong. In the Old Testament such “prophets” would have been stoned. It is this lack of consequence in the prophetic camp that has wreaked havoc and left many unprepared for the storm that is upon us.
The same applies to conspiracies. How much clearer can the Bible be? Isaiah 8:12-13, “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, neither be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. The Lord of Armies, Him you shall hallow; let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.”
It’s all over the internet, and religious broadcasting: ‘There is a worldwide secret society! It’s the devil and his vessels! Nancy Pelosi cooked up coronavirus in a Chinese laboratory!’
Stop needing a “word from God” from people. Stop digging into controversy. In 2 Timothy 2:23 Paul warned, “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.”
Instead, read the Bible! Now that you have a lot of time, get the Word of God in you. That is the most powerful protection, and the best way to understand how to weather this storm.
3. Make a list of goals for this down-time, and work hard to meet those goals. Already, you see how many things have stolen your time. You see how many things that previously cluttered your life, seem unimportant now. Because you are a child of God, nothing of yours that is vital will be stolen. Your job and your business will be brought back to life. Therefore, choose to see this as a kind of paid vacation. Paid by God.
It is a time to make overdue changes, and big and bold plans for the future. To do that, you must get to work. That means no binge-watching Netflix! It means you seek the heart of God and ask Him to show you the goals He wants you to accomplish. Write those goals out, and make the righteous choices that give those goals the very best chance of coming to pass.
Paul wrote much of the New Testament while he was in forced confinement. Great projects will be born—projects that may swallow up the wrong ones you had before.
Lastly make the most important goal list of all: the things you are never are never going back to.
4.Turn prayer into a habit. Inspiration will lead you to pray, but you must decide to form the habit that will keep you praying. The chilling fact is that if you do not pray during this pandemic, you will never pray at all. Let God deliver you from the greatest hindrances to prayer that I know of: impulse prayer and feeling-based prayer.
Right now, forget about how long you pray. Focus on praying each and every day. Behaviorists have shown that it takes doing something 35 times in a row, before it becomes a habit. If you create that habit, and deepen that habit, you will own life’s greatest skill. James 5:16, “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
5. Focus on personal repentance, not national repentance. You do it! Don’t wait for others, or even think about other people’s repentance. People have been babbling about national repentance as if it was something other people need to do. We don’t see national repentance happening yet, so don’t wait for it to happen. Repent on your own!
We do not even see widespread repentance among preachers. Have you heard many preachers on social media admit they’ve been wrong? We are flooded with messages from preachers. But have you heard one major pastor or preacher repent or promise that they will run church differently than they did before? Do you see any preacher who isn’t just chomping at the bit to restart the same old thing? I promise you, unless deep repentance takes place, you will be shocked at how unchanged the American church will be, after all of this. Think about this: How much really changed after 9/11?
Remember, God is judging America as much because of the world, as because of the church. The carnal church has left us open to this disaster. And yet, without repentance, we have zero reason to believe it won’t go back to exactly the way it was before. In other words, they will have learned nothing from the pandemic. They just don’t get it.
We pray that God will not force the issue of repentance by extending and deepening our national crisis, until America implodes completely. But you have to wonder how they can all say they want this to be over, and yet they still will not repent.
But, we must not set our hope on that. Our hope is founded on the knowledge that we must repent before God—and that is personal repentance. That will lead to the real miracle of mercy. You see, you can stand as a priest between the sins of America, the sins of the church, and God. That is true intercession. There is a righteous core of believers who can turn this plague away. (read Numbers chapter 16)
Remember, God said He would spare Sodom and Gomorrah if there were just 10 righteous people. We are not going to rebuke this away; we are going to repent it away. You have the power to stand between God and this virus.
We must give God what He is seeking. We can’t worry about how many others are interceding, even if there are only a few. The promises of the Lord are never vague! Neither are the conditions to His promises.
2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
While all five are awesome, this is the one that will actually allow Peace to Reign and the other four to maturity…

Yes Mario, we must dump off of this heavy laden ship we call America, all the things that seemed so important “before” we came to this moment of STORM.
There is a deep darkness that is out there among the people of this nation and others around the world. My discernment tells me that – that is why we are viewing very little national repentance within our country. FAR, far too many just don’t believe in God anymore even though they can clearly see there are no immediate answers coming from science for this deadly pandemic.
The medical people are figuring this coronavirus out as they go along.
This is why we have American leaders like Nancy Pelosi that are SO remarkabley detached from the human reality, that they use this timing as an opportunist… even while over 6 thousand Americans have died due to this pandemic in America, she wants to PUSH through legislation $$$ for ‘the new green deal’ NOW? Sheer insanity, when every thin dime of the citizens money should be devoted to eradicating this invisible enemy, WE are at WAR with, a microbe and IT is planning a strategy to fight back at us. and survive.

My 87 yr old, blind in 1 eye mother, & 61 yr old wheel chair bound brother, both stay at home invalids. They depend on me daily and I care give to them at least 4 days a week. Yap and it’s a hard thing for me in my late 60’s to do. However…here’s the deep darkness at work:
On March 27, 2020, the Senior apartment community where they live served them both notice of eviction papers due to my brother getting sick in one of the building elevators 3 weeks ago. Filmed by surveillance cameras, (an amount of vomit anyone could have picked up with a tiny single Kleenex) because he is paralyzed on the right side of his body, he couldn’t bend over & clean it up himself. So he left the elevator and went home to his apt.
THIS is the Senior community’s excuse for EVICTING him and my mother into the streets during the nations most deadly pandemic in 100 years! My mom & brother NEVER missed paying their rent on time, and we paid them in cash a $75 cleaning fine after he threw up.
Now it is important to note that my brother (just hospitalized 3 days ago, because of his preexisting condition(s) was tested for COVID-19 as a precaution by the hospital and he DOES NOT have it.
I have had to enact legal advocacy help with attorneys working feverishly for 10 days in order to protect my poor mom & bother who are the MOST vulnerable during this pandemic, just to keep them safe at the home where they’ve lived for 4 years.
These corporate real estate people that manage this community are darkly demonic, they don’t care about anything or anybody!!…including what the Governor of our state has ordered.
THE Point is…
The darkness in this nation has over take it, and “if” we’ve any hope of recovery, we MUST pray, repent, confess, and TURN this nation back to GOD Almighty as a nation, or I hate to think what could happen to it.
Dear Carolina, I’m so sorry for your mom and brother. When I started reading about your mom, being 87, and blind in one eye……so isn’t my mom! Thankfully my brother is in good health! Mom has wintered in Fl for the last 30 yrs …..but we lost dad, mom had a stroke and lost sight in one eye! Things changed very quickly for her! She didn’t want to be a burden(her words) she decided she wanted to make FL her home. Both my sister and I winter in Fl now too, but we have just now left, and have gone back home! Very hard leaving mom there, but she has great friends ….and she’s happy there! Mom gets books through Books for the Blind, every week she really enjoys that!! I will be praying for your mom and brother that they find a new place that’s even better for them. My heart goes out to you, it’s difficult even when there’s not a pandemic going on. Your point is spot on!!

Thanks for the great teaching but I don’t believe that this pandemic in any way the judgment of God upon America or any nation. Mistaking the act of the enemy for the doing of God leaves people with many questions.
The author was sharing how God REACTS to Satan’s attacks and how we need to respond in the midst of the battle.
Here is one example of where he gave the impression that this was caused by the enemy of our souls, yet God will turn the attack into good for His people:

God is a good Father. He is also a just Father and a jealous God. Too many idols are keeping His children in bondage. Just as the author describes, we need to individually repent to bring heaven to earth, along with all the blessings that come along with that.

I agree with an above post. I do not believe God is judging America. He can turn this to good for those who love Him, but ALL judgement was placed on Jesus on the cross. Even the Sodom and Gomorrah example… God wouldn’t destroy it if there were 10 righteous. He is not now destroying believers with this virus, He did not destroy believers in 911. I agree with the first 4 points whole heartedly, but if God were to judge America, he would of nailed us a long time ago…
If all judgement were placed on Christ then why did Jesus predict the judgement and destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD? There are many judgments that spared the righteous. Abortion, perversion and anti-God hatred is indeed something God will deal with.

Therefore doesn’t it stand to spiritually developed reason that God Almighty in Christ The King, has a hand (along with any other figure of speech) in this pandemic, to execute HIS sovereign omniscience and ruling power within this pandemic, and any other crisis or event that occurs on earth or in heaven?…That jurisdiction would also include the cosmic regions of outer space and all the unusual anomalies that are currently occurring in the vast planetary orbit of this universe we live within.
The Lord God “is” an awesome God The great Creator, He even created the nucleic acid molecule of the coronavirus itself. Satan is not omniscient. NONE of this catches Christ by surprise. The most important thing we can do right now is…ask The Lord the right questions…regarding what is happening to America and the globe, seeking HIM alone for the answer and humbly asking for HIS mercy toward us.

I preached a message a couple weeks ago about our need for personal repentance also. Still have people in our church rebuking and taking authority over this virus. I believe we need to examine ourselves and see what we can glean from this, trust God and shine like stars in the universe as we hold out the word of life!
Father, I confess that “like a dog returning to its vomit,” I continue to struggle with choosing the temptations of rehashing the injuries from the most volatile battles which my wife and I have fought throughout our marriage… I have not fully repented to her, nor loved her completely as Jesus loves His Bride… that is the goal in which I am endeavoring, by Your Grace, to be victorious… in Jesus Name…
Praise God Mr. Carlson! You have made the most Blessed step possible towards your heart of love being healed for your wife! Keep talking to the Lord about your healing that has begun! When you do you are shutting down the enemy and your old nature. Don’t let the enemy steal from you and talk you out of your days of repentance before the Lord. Great post Mario but I would take it a step further. The ministry MUST take the lead. Believers follow the ministry. The Pastors have got to lose their fear of the govt and start preaching repentance from ALL sin but especially the national sins of ABORTION AND HOMOSEXUALITY! Maybe the Lord has not removed the shackles of the govt silencing them because the church remains silent on the breaking of God’s laws especially with these two abominations which the Lord detests. Maybe God will finally remove the yoke of govt from our necks when we find the courage NOW to thunder out to the masses God’s truth on sin, repentance, salvation and the coming Kingdom of God.
Praise God for all the prayers for our Nation! All the trials we are going through has awakened a sleeping giant “THE CHURCH” has arisen to see how important the prayer’s of the people are!!
We need to continue and bring our Nation back to remember we are one Nation under GOD.

Dear Mario, yes, number 5 is so important. We can all pray for our families, our neighbors, our city. The Lord will show us how far our authority reaches, how far He has equipped us, or will equip us. Thank you for this call to personal, intercessory repentance.
Using this time to draw closer to God. To not back off, but to continue to move forward with precision and increased strength. This isolation can work for our good and boomerang on the enemy’s plan. God is our Rock and nothing can stop Him or the harvest. ❤️?
I know I need to repent of not spending time in prayer, that’s for sure. My situation makes it difficult to set a specific time, but I can do much, much better than I have been.
As far as the conspiracies and prophesies, I don’t know about all of them, but what I suspect is people are taking what was said and twisting it. I suspect it was more that they were being told that the democrats would use this for their agenda against Trump and his reelection, and any citizen in this country knows that they are doing just that.
With Easter coming on, let’s hope there’s a miracle in this country, and more and more people turn their hearts to true spiritual matters, most of all, repentance and learning to truly love and serve Him, and strive toward holiness.

As you point out II Chronicles 7:14 is more correctly applied to the church than to America since our country never has been a Christian nation as if we were God’s second Israel! If we were a Christian nation, then we would be a theocracy.
Christian in Heart not in incorporation. As a Nation we have been there a few times.
But, can you imagine living in a theocracy run by Southern Baptists or Pentecostal Oneness?
I thank Jehovah we are *NOT* a Nation “Christian” in name. But, perhaps this will make more of us Truly Christian in Heart, then we will once again be a Nation of Christians.

Sir, I am a big fan of your blog and I even bought your book, which I thoroughly enjoyed; it really ministered to me. But, I believe you need to be careful about what you say about people when you’re guilty of the exact same thing that you’re criticizing them for. And I do believe that you’re right what you said about false prophecy and how they would’ve been stoned in biblical times, but I think you yourself have gotten some things wrong before (your blog about President Trump, for instance).
Are you serious Louie? Be careful that you touch not God’s Anointed here. He just gave us one of the most important admonitions we as the true Church could ever need in this dark day. Let’s say amen and unify together right now and do some soul searching. It’s time to take that finger and point it at ourselves.
