The flood of news about the virus makes us all feel like we are getting punched in the stomach. And yet a recent article written by Aaron E. Carroll, Professor of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine and Ashish Jha, Professor of Global Health at Harvard University, is one of the tamest out there.
In their article for The Atlantic, entitled “This is how we beat the Coronavirus,” they offer what they deem to be a hopeful solution. For starters, they say we could see causalities similar to the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 50 million people.
So what is their answer?
- Screen everybody and do it regularly. (Imagine that! They offer little hope unless we screen every man, woman, boy and girl and then turn around and keep doing it again!)
- Be willing to shut down the economy for 18 months.
- Separate infected family members from healthy ones.
Then they go on to admit that all of this will still not be enough!
- Focus every American factory on turning out protective equipment—masks, gloves, gowns, and so forth—to ensure we keep our health-care workforce safe.
- Pour vast sums of intellectual and financial resources into developing a vaccine.
As I said, this is one of the less extreme articles I’ve read. But here’s why you want to look at their advice with healthy skepticism. My research team did a little digging and came up with this:
- The Atlantic is not an unbiased medical journal. They are deep in the Deep State’s pocket, so what these Left-leaning doctors say must be taken with a grain of salt: they want Trump to fail, and are projecting a worst-case scenario.
- This entire article is focusing on: a) How many people are GOING to die. b) How what we are doing now is too little, too late. c) The difference between what we are doing vs. what those in South Korea are doing. d) Mask and ventilator shortages, rather than finding a vaccine. e) Comparing the present crisis and Covid-19, to the past (1918) and the Spanish Flu.
Please: remember that NONE of these things were available in 1918: there was no vaccine, no Chloroquine, not even ventilators – so of course there were millions of deaths.
A vaccine is only briefly mentioned in the article in The Atlantic: “We need to keep time on the clock, time to find a treatment or a vaccine.”
Well, as you know, we now have both! But the article ignores the three potential preventative vaccines which are in the works and are being fast-tracked in Japan, America, and Israel. And the drug Chloroquine is very likely a cure. But these ‘health professionals’ never say a word about either of those, anywhere in this long article.
The lesson here is bigger than just: “Stay calm and don’t believe the hysteria.” No. There is another word in this hour. It is to the Body of Christ: We are supernatural! I am convinced that God wants to act in such a way that the whole world will know He did it and no one else.
Here are two things to consider:
1.The miraculous history of the United States. In his book The American Miracle, Michael Medved chronicles miracles in the past that saved us when all seemed lost. He reveals a record of improbabilities and amazements that demonstrate what the Founders always believed: that events unfolded according to a master plan, with a powerful force playing an unmistakable role in lifting this nation to greatness.
Even though our history is a long train of miracles, that doesn’t mean we don’t need to repent and ask for God’s mercy. Any believer who is not praying that way is crazy. But God’s past mercy is undeniable, and once again, it is available.
2. The Golden Attack of the Body of Christ.
What is the Golden Attack of the Body of Christ? Let me answer my own question with a question. Who does the Bible say we are? We are the people of the Living God who have been bought by the blood of the Lamb! And therefore, we have a role in this disaster that is far bigger than we realize.
The current situation has millions of Christians sitting at home, so, they can either sit by idly and wait it out, or they can go on the attack—a Golden Attack. You can stay on defense and be crushed by the weight of this crisis, or you can see this as a golden opportunity for the Body of Christ to exercise her authority over the powers of darkness. Millions of Christians sitting at home can, and should be, the devil’s worst nightmare—but only if we get on the attack.
What you must first see is this: You are different than the world.
You don’t worry. You don’t fret. You live on a higher plane than those around you. You are not an orphan. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 orders us “Not to mourn as those who have no hope.” Quit acting like you have no hope! Quit acting like you have never before in your life had to believe God to take care of you and your loved ones. It’s nothing new for you to trust God for health, safety or provision. Don’t drink the same Kool-Aid the world is drinking.
It is this difference that Jesus was trying to drive home in Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
You are in no condition to hear and obey God if you are living in the elementary mindset that most of America is in. If you are drained and harried like those without hope, you are living in fear and not available to join in the attack.
You are a light to the world but you need oil. Matthew 25:3-4, “Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.”
The oil is the Holy Spirit. We are not to fill our heads with news headlines. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit! Your concern is the light you give off, not only for yourself, but for everyone you come into contact with. It is so dark now that even the smallest lights are having a great impact.
The Golden Attack!
When the children of Israel grumbled against Moses, the Lord sent a plague. The Golden Attack is what stopped the plague. It is described in Numbers 16:47, “So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people, but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them. He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.” In one move, they called the people to repent, and called on God to forgive and have mercy.
How dare we call ourselves Spirit-filled believers and not see the Golden Opportunity before us!
We don’t need to leave our houses, yet we can still come into explosive agreement by the millions, and pray! A nuclear bomb of the Spirit has been created. We can make altars in all of our homes right now!
A similar thing happened during World War Two. Hitler had every advantage and began an attack that the people of England were helpless to stop. But, at the same time, an intercessor named Rees Howells had been crying out to God for days from his prayer closet. Then something happened that historians still cannot explain. Hitler inexplicably turned his army away from England and attacked Russia instead.
The Golden Attack of the Body of Christ is this:
With one voice we all petition heaven for mercy. With one voice we honor Almighty God by remembering how He has saved America from disaster, again and again. And then in holy rage, we come against this virus from hell. Together we curse it! We command it to turn and die, so that true revival might crash upon our shores!
Satan has not yet seen the impact that the Golden Attack from the Body of Christ will have on his plans—but he soon will!

Preach it brother, it’s words like these that will stir up the Kingdom of God in each one of us. We are the body of Christ as the head goes so does the body. We look and ask what is it Father your doing so we can fellow. Great power and authority can been seen in these days by a unbelieving world when Christ body comes together in unity and moves in the same direction as the head.

Repentance is key from II Chron 7:13,14. It is critical that we repent for our personal sins and the sins of our nation. THEN he will remove the plague and heal our land. Ask for mercy that triumphs over judgement because it’s amazing he hasn’t wiped us off the map with the shedding of innocent blood alone.
I wish someone on the national stage would organize not just a day of prayer but a national 5, 10 ,15 minutes of prayer. If the Italians can go out on their porches and sing, why cant Christians, all over the nation, at the same exact time, stand on their porch or in an open window, and collectively call on Almighty God.. repent as a country….and pray for this virus to spontaneously disappear?
We are living in a Middle Eastern country where the restrictions are some for of the most restrictive anywhere in the world and God has given us daily opportunities to be FEAR Extinguishers as we go into the restaurants/coffee shops that are only open for Take Away orders – and we pray with the employees and not just the Christian ones, but the Muslims, the Hindus and the Buddhists. It has been one of the most incredible seasons of ministry we’ve ever seen. Even as many Christians are staying home in fear, we are obeying God’s mandate to release His Kingdom, His power, His peace, His presence and the response has been INCREDIBLE!!

How about proclaiming an international week of warfare prayer and fasting? We can all set aside that week and go on the attack together Mario.

This was a thrilling word, Pastor Mario. I got chills and started crying, reading it. This is the time for the Church to arise and fulfill our destiny. It’s time for us to shine with the Glory of the Living God. With all our imperfections, it is the Church, God’s people, who will bring back hope to this land. It’s time for us to call out to the Captain of the Host, take up our spiritual swords, and send this enemy fleeing.

The term “great awakening” caught my eye and moved me fairly deeply. It is what we so desperately need. I’ve been praying for this since 2013. I’d love to see it come to pass. Every life lost is precious (except for the 60 million aborted), but the most recent stats show a mortality rate of less than 1% with this virus. The hyped fear certainly has a demonic edge to it. Still far more people have died from the regular flu and yet you will never see those stats, just the constant beating of the covid virus drum. A respected prophet said the shaking is from GOD and it will continue, however the fear is of the devil.
