Kanye West

I find it quite ironic: Kanye West has turned his concerts into a mission while the church has turned its mission into a concert. He is winning souls, but getting criticized by believers who won’t win souls.

Is Kanye’s conversion real? Are his motives pure? Does he really know Christ? One honest look at the American church makes these questions seem bizarre. These are the very questions the American church should be asking itself, not Kanye.

It reminds me of the time the disciples got all territorial about anyone outside their group doing ministry:  “John answered Him, saying, ‘Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.’ But Jesus said, ‘Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is on our side.’” (Mark 9:38-40)

America is littered with religious centers that have permitted masses to worship without repenting—to believe they are saved without being converted.  Whole congregations are living in outright sin but they are hearing from the pulpit: “if you confess your sins, you offend God’s grace.” And we are worried about Mr. West?

Some are wondering if Kanye is building an empire in the name of Jesus for personal gain.  Whoa!  That question could be leveled at many celebrity preachers…maybe even your favorite.  We are surrounded by Carnal Christian Centers built entirely on marketing, smoke and mirrors, who want to question Kanye’s substance.

But the excuse for fearing Kanye West’s potential insincerity is dismissed by Paul the Apostle himself: 15, “Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: 16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.  18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.” (Phil. 1:15-18)

Any soul that sincerely reaches out to Christ in these rallies will be touched by salvation. Christ is being preached!  Woodrow Wilson said, “The proof that the Gospel is divine is the preaching it has survived.” And it will most certainly survive this.

Now I want to address one final danger: the danger of rejecting a modern Saul of Tarsus. The early church made that mistake, but thank God they recovered before it was too late. I am not so sure the American church knows what is good for it.  Just look at how many Christians refused to vote for Donald Trump even as he was fiercely battling on behalf of Christians and supporting Israel.

Jesus said, “You did not know the hour of your visitation.” Another translation said, “You did not know when God came to help you.” What if God is sending help, but we keep hypocritically sniffing at His help?  When Jerusalem rejected Paul, the result was a disaster.

God keeps on placing strange packages at our door. This is because when God saves America from self-destructing, no one else will get the glory.  I for one welcome God’s help, and that of everyone He sends.

I too was skeptic… then I recalled the Written WORD –

John 10:15-17 (KJV) 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Mark 9:37-39 (KJV) 37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Just saying… and then there is the parable of the SOWER in Matthew 13 (specifically paying attention to verses 27-30)

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

GOD has this! HE will handle it all. HE has a way in dealing with all hearts, good or evil. If this offends anyone, maybe you should pray and ask the LORD what you can do instead of murmuring and complaining.

    GOD bless you Mario!

It appears that it is not only the swamp in Washington government that is being exposed. God will not judge the world and wink at the Church. The swampy stuff in the Church is being exposed as well, and there is more to come. He who thinks he (or she) is less sinful than someone else may have a pride problem. As Jesus said of the woman with the alabaster box (probably Mary), “She who has been forgiven much loves much.” It was pride that got Lucifer fired from his position. It was pride that caused the religious crowd to reject Jesus. I learned many years ago that God purposely uses the common and foolish things (and people) of this world to confound (offend and expose) the wise (in their own opinion). Don’t be offended by their “elitism.” God is exposing it.

My comment is Amen, I have asked myself the same question? Is Kanye for real ? but it’s the spoken word of God that works in the heart of the sinner to bring forth repentance. For God’s word does not return to Him void without accomplishing that which He sent it forth to do an that which is pleasing to Him. Praise His Name

God bless you Mario! I am so encouraged by your blog every day. It is wonderful to know there are at least a few men of God that still exist. I have had the same reaction as you to the church coming against Kanye. I didn’t even know what kind of music he sang before I saw somewhere that he had been saved and was holding what he called Sunday Church. I looked into it a bit and was so excited that God was able to use him so wonderfully. I believe the people who are so derogatory to him are today’s pharisees. Kanye seems to have teamed up with Joel Osteen for a while at least. We need to pray Kanye be a witness and influence on Joel Osteen and not the other way around. The ‘Church’ has become so worldly I believe it is a stench in God’s nostrils. It seems as if the great falling away is happening as we watch. I would much rather be part of the remnant of God than to be told “I never knew you.”

Kanye, if you read this article, know that there are many, many Christians on your side, rejoice in your New Life and are praying for you.

What is Paula White doing in our White House…I find that disturbing when there are men like Darrell Scott well able to lead him in God’s plan for him and who has the fullness of the spirit. Grace

My granddaughter said on Christmas Eve that she and her friends think that Kanye is, “doing this for the money and his ‘preaching’ is a fraud.” I told her I disagreed. She said that his, “new song”, is just filthy. Since I’m pretty much naive on this subject because I detest rap and never listen to any of this, I had no idea just how bad his lyrics were. I searched to see if I could find a “song” he’s written lately, since he has changed. The newest thing I could find was 2016, before he came out for Jesus. If there is a recent one that fits her description, I would appreciate someone posting that information here. But I did read the 2016 lyrics, and yes, I was pretty much stunned at how bad his stuff really was. It grieved my heart that this is what young people are hearing. No wonder our youth are out of control. To be honest, it went through my mind that he has done a lot of damage and he needs to God how sorry he is for that, if he has not. If he is sincere, he probably already has done that. I truly hope that he is. I could not find any more recent song than 2016, and I did read much positive material on him, all recent of course.

I wondered how pretending to be a Christian and performing in churches and prisons could be more lucrative than what he had going before. So, the accusation that he’s “doing it for the money”, to me, doesn’t make much sense. And, sadly, my granddaughter, as wonderful a girl as she is, is a nominal Christian. She is not actively serving God and is not steeped in the Word or the Spirit.

As another aside, I see there is a bit of a spirit of criticism popping up even on this thread.

On You Tube you can look up Billboard News- Here’s How Kanye West’s “Jesus us King” Made History on the Billboard charts.

Freedom Force Battalion has posted lyrics to songs Kanye has written recently. She has shown him performing in the beginning of her videos a few times. The lyrics have been very positive.

Maybe this Kanye episode will inspire your granddaughter to do something for the LORD other than murmuring and complaining. If she doesn’t like what he’s doing, tell her to start he own ministry for GOD. Just don’t sit there doing nothing and spew hate. She doesn’t have to join in with Kanye concerts. GOD will take care of Kanye as HE has with all real Christians and imposters before. Who knows the heart better than GOD? I trust the LORD.

Have you listened to his music since he fell off the horse in the presence of our Jesus. Can God save a nation in a day? Can he save a man in a day?

Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure having this seal, the Lord knows them that are His, and let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Preach the word and it will do it’s work. Just get out of the way and let God do the saving.

I talked about Kanye in our prison ministry service last Sunday Morning. I referred to the verse where Jesus disciples told him they rebuked others they ran across who were using His name to cast out demons, because they did not travel with them. Many preachers will never believe that God is in when others win souls in some other style or method than theirs. if they don’t do it just like they do, it must be worldly and evil. Especially somebody doing hip hop???? 17,000 that none of us old timers will ever be able to minister to are hearing about Jesus each week through Kanye. Millions are searching weekly online to see about Kanye and Jesus. I have no patience for the “judges” who condemn. I pray that God will save and use more of them. I still believe that prodigal daughter Miley Cyrus is coming home to the Father and will be used to win thousands for Christ. Pray for a mighty harvest of youth!

YES! GOD can save a man or nation in a day!

All I know is that once JESUS or HIS NAME comes on the scene, things change, people change. Surely, prime examples are king Nebuchadnezzar and one of the thieves who was crucified with JESUS. Pride caused Nebuchadnezzar to lose his mind and to madly ramble in the fields as an ox for seven years…then he came to himself and declared in Daniel 4:37, “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.”

The thief had a change of heart on the cross, asking JESUS to remember him… and Jesus said, “Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43

AND, what about Hezekiah when he prayed for deliverance from Sennacherib, king of Assyria? GOD dispatched an angel and he destroyed that evil army of 185,000 overnight…saving an entire nation from destruction. Isaiah Chapter 37

If Kanye isn’t for real, GOD will surely deal with him.

In the meantime, at these concerts, thousands are saying the NAME of JESUS. The WORD of GOD is ALIVE. Speaking the NAME of JESUS effects change by stirring ones spirit which leads to the heart’s desire to seek/know truth. It is Written in Jeremiah 29:13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Irrespective of what motives Kanye may have, I believe that these concerts will at least prick the heart of some of the participants. Even 1 soul… one soul is valued more than a world. GOD has a way to turn misleading efforts or anything meant for evil into something glorious. The real issue is, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO CELEBRATE OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST?

Luke 1:37 (KJV) 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

God bless anyone speaking the Word! He can reach people we never could! The people in Hollywood must be giving him a fit we must pray for him not be critics! God will have his way an if he could use a donkey he can use anyone!! Thank u sir for your truth!

    • Tony

      AGREED!

However, a great division is underway in the earth… and in the church it’s been ongoing for some time. Good vs Evil, Saved vs Unsaved, Tares vs Wheat, Sheep vs Goats, etc. JESUS said in Matthew 10:34-35 (KJV). 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”

      Yep, it’s on!

Unfortunately, there will be multi-millions possibly billions of casualties. Humans sent to a place which was designated for satan and his demons. Yet, GOD is Merciful. The WORD says that “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” John the disciple told JESUS that they stopped another man from “doing the works of JESUS”, because he was NOT following their particular group. JESUS said in Mark 9:39, “Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part.” That’s something to really think about…

Kanye West is singing praises to GOD… and some church bench warmers just don’t like it. Utterly amazing! Although, I was initially skeptic, I couldn’t but get excited about someone praising GOD. I love to hear anyone who praises my LORD GOD & SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST! Anywhere, anytime! There is no doubt in my mind that Kanye had a recent “come to JESUS meeting”. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be doing this. He already has mega money, a luxurious lifestyle, hobnobs with the rich and famous and can almost do anything or go anywhere in the world he desires. Yet, come Sunday mornings, he’s putting on a praise event for GOD. Look who’s following him and going to his events. Most are People you nor I could NEVER reach.

Again, GOD is Merciful. There won’t be an excuses from anyone as ALL will have heard about JESUS.

Everybody in Hollywood knows of and about Kanye West: movie moguls, actors, musicians, basically all so named celebrities know Kanye. All these people of global influence now have no excuse when it comes to JESUS. Yet, GOD is Faithful! HE has a way of spreading the Goodness of GOD! Even if HE uses Kanye West. Truth be known, you just can’t sing praises and speak the WORD of GOD without your life changing! So keep singing Kanye!

To the complaining church bench warmers, it’s Written in Luke 19:40 that if you don’t praise HIM, rocks will! I don’t know about you But “Ain’t no rock, gonna take my place”! Keep singing Kanye!
