Christian Leaders are saying lies about you

by | Dec 31, 2019 | Christianity Today | 37 comments

Why would I begin the New Year with a blog like this?  Because, you and I as believers in Christ are in a war against evil. The one thing you want to do in the coming New Year is to defeat evil.  And evil is about to take a nasty turn—a turn you need to beware of. The hate is going to turn away from Trump to you—specifically Christians who support Trump.

The God haters have failed to bring down Trump. He has survived, yea, even grown more popular; thriving after all their attacks. The economy continues to amaze. Minorities have more jobs than ever. The Left is pulling its hair out as it tries to find a way to defeat our President. So, they went to the dark regions of hell to find out how to do it: shame the Christians.

Take Chuck Todd, host of Meet the Press for an example. He portrays Trump supporters as people who have been trained from childhood to believe in what he calls ‘fairy tales’—people ‘who want to be lied to’—and he read this from a letter to the editor, “show me a person who believes in Noah’s Ark and I will show you a Trump voter.”

And because Jesus clearly mentioned Noah and the ark in Matthew 24, this is an attack on our Lord.  This is a direct shot at Christians. He is calling Bible believers buffoons, and by association, he is calling Jesus Christ a buffoon.

Now I get to the darker side of all this: Christian leaders who are telling lies about you. Remember FBI Agent Peter Strzok who said, “Just went to a Southern Virginia Wal-Mart. I could SMELL the Trump support.”

Well, Mark Galli Editor of Christianity Today  magazine just gave us his version of that: “I know hardly anyone, let alone any evangelical Christian who voted for Trump. I describe evangelicals like me as ‘elite’ evangelicals … and this class of evangelicals has discovered that we have family members so different they seem like aliens in our midst. These other evangelicals often haven’t finished college, and if they have jobs (and apparently a lot of them don’t), they are blue-collar jobs or entry-level work. They don’t write books or give speeches; they don’t attend conferences of evangelicals for social justice or evangelicals for immigration reform. They are deeply suspicious of mainstream media. A lot of them voted for Donald Trump.”

What you have here is so smug, and misguided that I can’t find a place to begin responding to it. Mark Galli is, by his own words, an elitist. He is better than you—you sad, redneck, illiterate Christian Trump supporter. He is smarter, he finished college and he has a job. You on the other hand are entry level, remedial and, God forbid, suspicious of the mainstream media.

Worst of all, you don’t attend SJW conferences on immigration. Conferences that we now know were funded in part by George Soros—who doesn’t care about immigrants as much as he cares about dividing the church and creating a one-world government.

Mark Galli is telling lies about you. He doesn’t understand that the evil one has riled him up and given him a wispy need for recognition from the intellectual community. For ten years I have watched a number of smart Christians seduced in Berkeley by the need to water down their faith in order to be accepted among the “intelligentsia.”

Remember when Peter played the hypocrite and ate with Gentiles until the Jewish believers from Jerusalem arrived? Then he withdrew from the Gentile believers. Paul rebuked Peter publically, and wrote about it in the book of Galatians chapter 2! It’s the same thing. Guys like Mark Galli seem to need the approval of the media. Small wonder he appeared on CNN right after this.

Lest you think it is wrong to name names, take a look at the long list of heretics mentioned by name in the New Testament. From Paul calling out Alexander and Hymenaeus, to John naming Diotrophes. It is biblical to warn the sheep about wolves.

Mark Galli’s now infamous editorial where he called for Trump to be removed from office is his second lie. There is no evidence that Trump committed any impeachable offense. Nancy Pelosi found nothing. That’s why she hasn’t gone forward with the process and presented the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, holding up the trial she knows is going nowhere.

Mark Galli took their false accusation, and stated it as fact.

But he is not the only Christian Leader lying about you. Beth Moore tweeted Galli saying “My hat’s off to you, @markgalli. Respect.” She is commending someone for making a false accusation. She also lies by signaling that no true Christian man can support Trump.

It is also possible to lie by omission. Neither of these leaders ever criticized Obama or the Christians who violated their conscience by voting for Obama.

So let’s talk about Christian Trump supporters.

1.Many of them are positive thinkers and entrepreneurs. President Trump has a winners approach to life, and his followers resonate with that. These are the church members most likely to give big to a vision or help pay off the building.  They are not the critics and legalistic people that hinder you, pastor.

2.Most Christian Trump supporters are patriotic. They love America.  They believe that we live in the greatest country on earth.  They are angry that our laws and our Constitution are being disregarded by secular progressives. They are angry with professional athletes who disgrace our flag and national anthem.  They stand with cops, the military, and first responders.

3. The majority of Christian Trump supporters are all about common sense. They believe:

  • Our trade deals with other nations made no sense.

  • Political correctness is a silly idea that has morphed into a tedious tyranny.

  • It makes no sense to judge Trump’s past bankruptcies while ignoring the insane legacy of socialism.

  • It makes no sense to leave our borders unsecured and allow an influx of criminals who have committed millions of crimes and have killed our children.

  • It makes no sense to vote for a party that would oppress the church with regulations that force Christians, Churches, and Christian employers out of business.

  • It is a national disgrace that public schools in America are forcing children to participate in demonic practices such as Buddhist meditation and sexually perverted role playing.

  • It makes no sense to support the party that would turn Christian witnessing into a hate crime.

  • It makes no more sense to reject Trump for statements he made 11 years ago than holding Paul responsible for putting Christians to death 11 years before his Damascus road conversion.

  • It makes no sense to compare Donald Trump’s tax forms to 33,000 emails that Hillary criminally erased—emails that posed a national security threat.

Shaming Christians who support Trump will be the weapon of choice for 2020. But don’t you dare be ashamed!  These Christian leaders who are lying about you, they are the ones who bear the real shame.

There is a widespread hatred of Christians and Bible believers, even within what seems now to be the ‘elite’ evangelicals – this post has only just scratched the surface, it goes very deep. They are the reason that the church is impotent and revival is rare. The Soros money is just the tip of the iceberg, not just funding some secular SJW conference but a concerted efforts to inject heresy and never-Trumperism into Christian churches. Consider the “Revoice” conference as a warning, a taste of what is coming. This is why churches and pastors have become obsessed with unbiblical anti-American and anti-Trump rants, feeling compelled to inject godless leftist politics into the church at every point. They hope that destroying the Evangelical church and the Evangelical vote that they will regain power – and then the elite will be free to rule the serfs in any way they see fit. Including the abolition of all religious freedom our forefathers held dear and fought for.

Mark Galli Editor of Christianity Today, “I describe evangelicals like me as ‘elite’ evangelicals …”

So much for the humility that Christ called us to. That statement alone I would call arrogant, prideful and doomed to a *hard* fall, probably into the pit (without repentance).

Granted, it’s hard to be humble when the anointing rests on you or The Manifestations of The Holy Spirit accompany you.

But, if The Lord of Glory can be humble we’d better learn how ourselves!

What a revealing post Mario, Thank You once again!
I’ve read all 21 of the response comments on this blog article and they are insightful as well.
This morning the news is that Mark Galli of Christianity Today magazine is retiring, stepping down from from his job at that magazine…Goodie!!
No doubt his plan will be to further intrench himself with those outside the household of our Faith and of The Kingdom of God in Christ.
Mr Mark Galli and Ms Beth Moore are high profile flashing symbols to us of how far down the road into “the great apostasy” (spoken of by our brother AP-Paul to the Thessalonian church), that we actually are nowadays. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what these defectors from our Faith have done & why they’ve done it.
These kind of heretics have to denigrate others and speak ill will of those actually living inside God’s Kingdom, in order to build up their own pathetic self images. Mr Galli’s motives are oh so obvious, he’s never been aboard the Salvation experience.
As to Ms Moore’s self centered rhetoric that she titles “teaching(s)” , when I witnessed her uncanny disgust and poorly disguised misandry, after listening to just one of her sermons some 12 years ago. I was appalled that any church house or Christian center would use this “type” of communication within their ministry. It was clear to me then, that Ms Moore needs to have a comprehensive Behavioral Health Therapeutic Rehabilitation for several months, removed from others, for her own safety and the safety of others, until she faces her own hate for men in general. After some time of removal from the general public and the constant sound of her own hysteria, she might then begin to restart a quiet program of honest Bible study, introspection with prayer, and after some more time possibly, cautious biblical group debate.
Ms Moore needs professional help first to calm her hysteria.

      • katamanti61

Yes! I want to a Beth Moore bible study at a local Baptist church and her teachings left me depressed and grieved! And this was probably 15 years ago! Sad!

        • Carolina

Yes katamanti61, Ms Moore’s detachment from a normal Christian love for the male gender is so palpable it’s actually frightening to watch & listen to. Then there’s the hysteria with which she approaches her speaking engagements. It’s like she’s having a cathartic purging at her conferences. Hence my eval on her need for basic cognitive therapy first and foremost, promoting clear thinking. Now I’m not negating the powerful spiritual healing that is essential that comes only from Jesus Christ when I say she needs human therapy 1st. One simply must begin complete psychosis healing with a removal of chaotic thinking (or hysteria) first, so the permanent spiritual healing can take preeminent control. Healthy thinking is key to a healthy spiritual life.??

The leftist rhetoric does not move me. I am bolder in my faith then ever before. Loyalty to Jesus Christ or loyalty to a backsliden denomination? One is equal to idolatry. Jesus is LORD. The Word is true.

I have a daughter and family in Auburn Ca. 20 minutes from Roseville. It is my prayer for them to attend your crusade.(big miracle).
Please pray with me to know what to do and how to do it.

The same people who would crucify Jesus again if possible- the poor illiterate, carpenter’s son! Sounds like the Pharisees all over again!

  6. Inez

I concur with your assessment of these clouds without water, i.e. Galli and Moore. The president has plenty of supporters who are college educated. Some have corporate jobs and some are entrepreneurs. So don’t let the tripe get to you. Know who and whose you are, follow Holy Spirit and keep moving forward. We win! Thankfully, they can’t touch us as long as we walk WITH the Almighty, Isaiah 54:17. Thank you for the good work you are doing. Keep it up.

  7. Joyce Fiorentino

Excellent article and I agree 100%. But unless I missed it, I would add one more important thought. The issue of abortion. How can one fight against a President who is fighting to protect the unborn ?

    • Joanna Protz

      AMEN!!!That is a BIG issue!

Beth Moore said that? What happened to her? Perhaps someone hacked her account? You can only hope.
We Trump-loving born again, Spirit filled believers will not back away from what we know is right. Like Peter said to our Lord [paraphrased] “if you are not the Messiah, where are we going?” Jesus IS the only way and, wake up folks, part of His solution for this sick world at this time is President Donald J. Trump.
And, to give them more to chew on… God plans to have “One Nation Under God INDIVISIBLE.”
May His will be done here on earth, as it is in heaven.
Thanks again, Mario, for being you. Happy 2020 … it is going to be glorious [ and a messy, too]

    • Rebecca

Yes, I saw for myself where Beth Moore tweeted that back in December. She also made other comments that you can google and see for yourself. Very disappointing and disrespectful.

    • Larissa Sand

My heart was sad too …. about BETH Moore. I sent her an email ….. I will always stand for our God for America. And for Donald Trump

  10. Denise Pitts

It’s amazing to me how Christians devour other Christians. I’m not surprised that wolves have infiltrated Christian media to divide us. Thank you for continuing to expose the darkness and I’m praying that God continues to strengthen our President and First Lady.

  11. KatAmanti

This is why women should be silent in the church! Beth Moore is deceived, just like Eve was in the garden, and she has gotten “filthy” rich in the process. I would never go to her Bible Studies, or spend a dime to hear her preach. The church, has put Beth Moore, up on a pedestal! So wrong for her even to be a teacher!! She has become rich, selling her gospel.

  12. Christine Martin

Yes this assessment is accurate; keep preaching it. There are a few who are awake and discerning of the truth. It is a dark time in our nation, but the Lord our God will break forth in righteousness and justice!  Blessings, Christine

  13. Danny Lake

Wow! The best commentary on our nation, I’ve read to date. Spot on.

  14. Mark Stripling

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who put darkness to light, and light to darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 5:20. True believers must recognize and expose apostasy. They will not endure sound doctrine. They reject truth. They embrace doctrines of devils. They are liars. They are satan inspired accusers of the brethren.

  15. ghostofdurocher

Thanks for bringing this to light. Time to get the word out about Galli and Moore and their attempts to influence christians against Trump. Word also needs to get out about Pelosi. She claims to be a believer but through her actions in D.C. she seems only adept at parroting the actions of her true leader, the Pope. Nancy needs to be born again, sadly her, like many roman catholics are stuck and bound by their own false teaching and theology that states that roman catholics arent really “dead in their trespasses and sins” but have only been “wounded” by sin and thus can co-labor with God essentially in their own salvation by making amends and their “good deeds”……”filthy rags” in the eyes of God.

  16. Grace Bristol

Excellent post…I knew already about Beth Moore. I had never heard of this man who is in love with his own mind.

No weapon formed against us shall prosper! Prayer warrior arise and take authority over the lies of satan and pull down the strongholds! We already have the victory but it is the violent who will take it by force. Align yourself to God in prayer and He will help you defeat the enemy..
We fight don’t against flesh and blood but powers and principalities. Stand strong as we stand in the gap and storm heaven with prayer. We got this!

    • Mary Kat

You’re right, Sharon, with God’s help we win!

  18. Brother Fred

Jesus warned us that in the last days there would come delusions so strong that if it were possible the very elect would be deceived by them. The sheep are following the voice of the Shepherd and are not fooled. The false sheep are beginning to show their true colors…mark them well.

  19. kingskid48

I knew about Beth Moore and her shameful words against the President. That’s why, when our church started a Bible Study using her book, I would not attend. If she has allowed herself to be deceived by an arrogant snob like Galli, she’s lost all credibility. For her to take up with a man that says such demeaning things about some of the people of God is abominable. I am wondering if Galli has ever actually given his heart to Christ, fully, completely, and flat-on-his-face repenting. I fully expect him to show up on CNN as their, “religion expert”, or some such nonsense. As far as the mocking, I have lived with it personally with the people around me for decades, plus I have been seeing the online mocking since I started my online business over 20 years ago. The personal attacks are easy to respond to. The attackers never know what they are talking about, they grab stories out of the OT that they think prove how, “mean”, God is and prove the Bible is a “book of myths”…it goes on and on. They make idiots of themselves because they absolutely NEVER have a clue what they are talking about. What does grieve me are the attacks on God, on the Savior, and on the Holy Spirit. Plus, it, frankly, kind of infuriates me when they accuse churches of, “just wanting money”, and Christians of “never caring about anyone but themselves”. Because I see the selflessness of the Christians in our church, and others in this community, and all that they do with their outreaches. They work hard, very hard, the volunteers do, and they deserve better than the put-downs of people online who have no idea whatsover what they are even talking about. Yes, the attacks against Christians will escalate. Schiff is desperately trying to drag Pence into the Impeachment fiasco. His arrogance (Schiff’s) is out-of-control. He smells blood in the water and has convinced himself that he can get rid of Trump and Pence both, get Pelosi in there, and the democrat (and it’s democrat, NOT democratic) party will be entrenched in power for good. He really believes this is possible and going to happen. I honestly think he is mentally deficient.

  20. mapleleafmusings

Thank you again Mario! The fact that some of the Church is siding with the world’s way of doing things should be a wake up call! I have said this for years, “frog in a pot of water.” Same tactics the enemy used in the garden…to bring doubt into our relationship with God. Interceding for the Church and our country!

  21. Russell Marino

Thank you, brother, for your courage to speak the truth in love. Declare it to those who have ears to hear. May God continue to bless you and yours.

  22. Noel

Well, at least I know what an elitist Evangelical is now, according to Mark Galli. Does this sound like the kind of person that has the spirit and mind of Christ? What arrogance and condescension.

  23. David S.

What a great article. And I had no idea that that editor said all of that. I only knew about his statement that Trump should be impeached. I didn’t realize what he had said about Trump supporters. Wowza! Thank you for informing us and for the 2020 warning!! God bless, Mario!

  24. thedevilweknow

Following Chuck Todd’s “logic,” Jesus is also a Trump voter, so Trump can’t lose in 2020.

Yeah, Mark Galli, Beth Moore just exposed who and what they were about. Let the rest of them be exposed for the Frauds that they are. Told one friend, well maybe us stupid Christians as we are eluded to and will quit subscribing to “Christianity Today” and other false publications and quit attending Beth Moore; buying her Books, supporting her and other false ministries with our time and money. Research who these teachers, shepherds truly are and their agenda, motive and who truly founded and funded and where the money truly went and who they help as they became a Corporation. Not to mention did Mark Galli, Beth Moore and all those out there representing Jesus Christ and speaking for Jesus Christ build Housing and help Widows, Fatherless, Poor, Homeless, Single Parents and their Children or have they taken your time and money and built their kingdom to self? Lord, continue to expose as in Daniel 2:22, Luke 8:17; Luke 12:2-3. More Lord; continue to lift up their skirt Jeremiah 13:26 and Nahum 3:5. My friend always saying, the true Church preaches the Gospel and truly serves; helps people which is the true Church=the Body of Christ. Matthew 25:31-end!
