American preaching has reached a do-or-die moment

In pulpits all over the world, thousands of sermons will be preached to millions of people. Some of it will do more harm than good—way more than you know.

Please believe that I am not taking a swipe at all preachers. Most preachers are sincere men and women of God. However, these worthy voices are often drowned out by the modern preaching which leaves out the Cross of Christ, the Blood of Christ, and Bible verses that deal with sexual sin, and hell. And that is far more dangerous than you know. It has contributed to the moral/political ignorance of millions of believers and can cost us our freedom as Americans.

The modern preachers who leave all this out do it because they say they want to offer hope. Hope is their big word. Here and now, I am accusing them of offering at best an inferior hope, and at worst, a false hope–a very dangerous false hope.

Paul the Apostle had a totally opposite view about preaching hope. He said, “Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech.” (2 Corinthians 3:12). To give hope, these preachers leave out the truth. Paul believed that to give hope, you must leave it all in.

He said in Ephesians 6:19, “(pray) for me, that utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Twice in this passage, he refers to boldness.

Again, in 2 Corinthians 4, he detailed why it is such a disaster to leave anything out: 1 “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

Any preacher who handles the Word of God deceitfully and puts a veil over it makes himself a villain to lost souls. Worse still, that preacher is in partnership with the devil.  When they put a veil over truth, they invite Satan to blind people to it.

Every day we are losing ground because of this artificial preaching.  There is a reason the Holy Spirit is also called the Spirit of truth. You cannot be anointed unless you are telling the truth.

Here is what this preaching has cost us so far: Because the church did not take a unified Biblical stand on sexual immorality, the Left has systemically canonized the lie that Christian doctrine is hate speech.

Chick-Fil-A has been banned from opening an outlet at several airports. What did they do wrong? They stood by their Christian values and they gave money to Christian groups. City boards voted to shut them down because they gave to “hate” organizations. Had we taken a stand, we would not be in this bind.

More damage: these modern preachers have made their congregations biblically illiterate. That is why a huge number of Christians including famous “gospel” singers don’t know the values of the Christian faith—don’t know how to answer their culture—don’t see anything wrong with abortion or same sex marriage—and don’t know enough to vote for righteous laws and leaders.

Let’s get back to the issue of hope.  I am asking these preachers a simple question: how can you say you are bringing hope, if you leave out the truths which carry that hope?

Here is what I mean: real hope comes from true conversion. Only the soul that has repented and utterly opened their hearts to new life can feel the surpassing hope of Christ.

Let me show some examples of true hope.

The Cross. Until someone realizes that they are lost—until they have been broken by encountering the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary, the true hope of Christ cannot take hold of them. But, brother, when it does take hold, it is awesome to see!  You will have a convert who is in church for all the right reasons. You have a walking miracle that is contagious.

The Blood of Christ. Only those souls who know that the Blood has been applied to their sin, can feel clean—a moral clean that nothing else can give them. Moreover, the most dangerous young convert is the one who knows they have power over the devil.

“And they overcame (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives unto death.” (Revelation 12:11)

Sexual sin: Millions of people who genuinely want deliverance can’t find it because society has normalized their behavior. But that does not change the damage. For example, the suicide rate for transgender people is 33 times higher than the general population.

People look at verses such as 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, and call them hateful—but take another look: 9 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you, once. But you were washed clean, and you were set apart unto God, and you were pronounced righteous, by trusting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Holy Spirit of our God.”

There are two takeaways here:

1.Sin is sin. Theft, murder, idolatry, drunkenness, and all of the various sexual sins, are listed side by side.

2.Paul ends this passage by describing true deliverance from sin. Salvation in Christ offers hope of cleansing, sanctification, and justification. That hope is not available if we do not clearly confront the issue.

The kind of hope that the misguided modern sermon offers is, in reality, little or no hope. They tout the good life. But if that is hope, then why are billionaires killing themselves? Besides, what are we doing advancing the same lie as the world?

When the lukewarm believer leaves church on Sunday morning, they are swooning in the superficial glow of the happy sense that God is not mad at them. What they don’t have is the blazing reality of being set free and filled with peace that passes all understanding. They lack the power to answer a sick world’s cry for help.

American preachers used to be famous for being reformers and agents of change. Now they are performers who have agents.

These ‘happy time’ sermons must stop now. They are as much of a threat to America as the leftist radicals. THE BIBLE NEEDS TO SET FIRE TO OUR SERMONS!.

Every night, under our tent we kill the lies contained in these modern sermons by proclaiming true hope. Lost souls hear truth under the power of the Holy Spirit. God confirms the Word with miracles and the un-churched come running forward to receive new life.  Glory to God!

Remember this…Paul said that it was because of the greatness of the hope we have that we are bold to tell all the truth!

Amen.

We are standing on the threshold of heaven or hell, the Church is at the crossroads, many have been led astray.

Many of the true bornagain believers has been squeezed out of the Church because there believe in sound doctrine.

The enemy has a stronghold in many Churchs, they took out the Alter and Patform replaced it with a Stage.

God is in full control, He is allowing this madness, to get out it out in the open to see, it is now so clear that there is no mistaking of right from wrong, good from bad, sheep vs goats, God vs Satan.

This end of the age as we know it is over, Satan has entered The Church. Many have been led astray by the doctrine of devils.

The true Church is now in Rescue mode, reaching as many was led astray by false doctrine. God is beganing to gather up His sons and daughters, this is a sign that the return of The Lord is near.

    2 Thessalonians 2:1- 17
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. KJV

    Amen good word Mario.?
The superficial Hope that most ministers preach today is meant to mollify their audience. Everything about Christ Jesus was miraculous and supernatural. The entire point of God’s Grace and Christ’s power of forgiveness is to redeem us from the 2nd death. Not to give us “our best life now”, though following HIM will do that very thing.
Yet we don’t hear preaching from pulpits anymore regarding the ultimate Blessed HOPE that Paul spoke of consistently. The Resurrection/Rapture of the Saints of God.
Without focusing on what lies “ahead” and is also imminent, instead of only preaching on what lies “here” & now, coupled with the miraculous witness of Christ’s Own raising resurrection after being essentially murdered & tortured to death, then what’s the use?
Life after natural death in this world & on this earth is inevitable for EVERYBODY, and lasts for eternity not just 80 or so years!! People have no fear today because of the ignorance that is within them. If they’re only fearful about what happens next on this planet, they’ll NEVER get with the BIG picture about what lies in store for them at the ultimate Judgement seat of God Almighty in eternity.
AP-Paul made it expressly clear to the Corinthians:
” For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep (or have died) in Christ have perished.
19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.” (1 Corinthians 15:19)… Look at that again…
19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
Being saved by God in Christ is not a spiritual exercise for this life only, to be utilized as if someone is riding a Peloton coached by a Christian TV screen Guru so they can become internally buff??
Christ came for sinners and everybody is one! HE did the impossible because Everybody needs a supernatural Savior that’s the message, & to be SAVED from something really, really horrible!!… to be saved from an eternity separated from God, a perfect afterlife in heaven, from The Kingdom, from one’s own loved ones, and most horrendous of all, separated from Jesus HimSelf.
Nope few to none want to preach those realities anymore.?

I agree. To many sermons filled with ‘feel good’ BS. If your just a nice person….

  4. Jim Alford

    Exactly.
Unfortunately most people that have “come to the Lord” in the past 30-35 years have not heard the truth about sin, repentance, deliverance, and redemption. They came to Jesus the “need meeter” rather than Jesus Savior, Lord and King.
Ministers, over this time period, have traded building the kingdom of God for personal or denominational kingdom building.
As you stated, it is the Truth that sets free, not making one feel good about themselves and their lifestyles.
I am blessed to hear of the true conversions that are occurring in your meetings.
    Thank you brother.

I wanted to comment on false hope.
False hope was a favorite deception used by the Nazi’s to keep people calm. This is how they kept millions calm while they transported them to death camps. The Jews packed their suitcases, bought their train tickets. To keep them calm after arriving the Nazis put hooks outside the showers.
What does this have to do with Christianity? Just saying false hope is deadly.

Thinking about attending an “Evangelistic” meeting this weekend. The speaker would be known by nearly everyone because of his last name. I am very curious to see if the gospel will be preached or another kind will be declared.

    Galatians 1:6-9

Just a follow up on the evangelistic meeting I attended this past Sunday night. I am actually stunned that in the little town I live in with a population of 30,000 to35,000 there were nearly 5,000 people at last night’s event. God is up to something! The gospel was preached; it was not watered down and what was most encouraging to me was to see all the young people that were present. It did my heart very well to see God’s people turn out and the Holy Spirit turning hearts back to the Father and growing the ranks of the kingdom to push back the darkness of this hour!
