There are Christians who hate Trump. Let’s call it for what it is: hate. It is their hate—which is very strange for those who name the name of Jesus—that dulls their ability to see the inaccuracy of their comments and their myopic views.
One sanctimonious ranting Christian said, “There’s nothing Biblical about Trump.” Actually, there’s nothing Biblical about that statement. The prophet Daniel served Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel recognized the role that this pagan king played in God’s unfolding drama. The church’s ability to work with Trump is totally Biblical.
Now, I must clarify something, lest I incur the wrath of Trump supporters. I am not calling Trump a pagan king—I’m sure he is much more moral than his enemies realize—I am saying that if Daniel could work with the Nebuchadnezzar how much more can we work with the Donald.
I have tried very hard to figure out what causes believers to hate Trump. Our side won a long overdue and miraculous victory at the polls, and yet these believers choose to aid and abet the other side. Is it because their favorite “Christian” didn’t win? Is it a case of sour grapes?They didn’t require any President to be a squeaky clean pastor, until Trump.

So why do so many Christian leaders—who said it was wrong to judge Obama—judge Trump?
Trump is not a pastor. He is a businessman who loves America. As far as his faith? I am not qualified to determine his spiritual depth, since I’ve never had the chance to meet the man. But there are many photos of Christian leaders laying hands on the President, praying for him, and he is cooperating.

Hitler never had 98% of the media against him. Trump has never called for a new constitution. Hitler never tried to protect Israel. I could go on and on.
Maybe if Trump had addressed the March for Life. Maybe if he had chosen an on fire born-again Vice President. Maybe if he had rescinded executive orders that banned federal funds from Christian organizations. Maybe if he overruled the Johnson Amendment that banned the free speech of pastors. Maybe if he had moved the American Embassy to Jerusalem, and shown himself to be a true supporter of Israel. Maybe if he had put someone on the Supreme Court who helped Christian bakers to exercise their right to freedom of religion. Maybe then you would support him. Oh wait…he did all those things…
God has done a miracle and the enemy wants to make short work of the amazing breakthroughs we are witnessing by dividing the church. Instead of being a religious outlier you should be thanking God, praying for and supporting the President. And voting for righteousness, and against the enemies of freedom.

There is a reason you will not state your beliefs Stephanie, it is because they are incongruous. It is impossible to justify supporting their anti-Bible views on marriage, sanctity of life and a hundred other things and say you believe in the Bible.
Certainly your heart must be in conflict Stephanie. Democrats are ungodly, they voted 3 times (just as Jesus was denied 3 times) to even allow God in their platform. The believe in killing the unborn, they want to destroy America by opening our borders. They don’t want you to keep your hard earned money, they want you to share it with those who don’t care to contribute. Additionally, they are anti Israel and as God has warned us about trusting and holding up Israel. I think perhaps you are more inclined to be agnostic as I know not One (1) Christian who supports today’s Democratic Party. The democrat party cursed God at their “party’s” convention, the democratic “party” as a whole supports abortion on demand for lust, fun,. profit and convenience, something that Proverbs 6:16-19 says that God considers an abomination and that he hates.
Add that to the fact that if you do not vote in step with the party platform you are ostracized, there is no way an individual can stay in the democratic party and remain a Christian as the “party’s” platform is anti God.

Annabelle, in our current situation, I agree with everything you said, except for one. In general, we don’t really know the man/woman running for polical office. Most candidates will lie, cheat, steal, whatever, to get elected, so the only thing you can trust is the associations that they maintain, i, i.e., the party they belong to. So we should vote for the party which aligns with our beliefs, not for an individual whom we can’t really know.
I was brought up a Democrat and voted that way most of my life. But I have total contempt for what the Party has become. I will never vote for them again unless they return to their former ideals. I doubt that it will ever happen.

But, there are two indicators that give me hope: First, His apparent hunger for the company of men of God, Secondly, His conduct in returning prayer and the Bible to the Whitehouse.

All of the Women that I’ve spoken with that are anti Trump were mainly against him because of his disrespectful comments about women. ( which he apologized publicly ) One women even said she agreed with his policies but wouldn’t vote for him because he is sexist. I will admit I wasn’t happy when he became the front runner. But as I listened and watched I became convinced that the other candidates hate for Christians and the unborn was a very scary and dangerous road for our country! Amen Becky. I’ve read many comments on here and decided to say something about the emotion called hate that has been used many times. In Ephesians 4: 17-32, Paul writes to the Ephesians regarding the new life of being a Christian. There are many words he used in those verses that could point to the new Democrat party and maybe a few to some Republicans, however, he ends those verses by talking about not grieving the Holy Spirit and being kind to one another. I wanted to point out that being a Christian and hating Trump do indeed grieve the Holy Spirit. Our God also said that we are REQUIRED to forgive, it we wish to be forgiven by Him. The Lord’s Prayer tells us this. All men need to be renewed by His Spirit and open up to His will daily, if need be. If you are voting with a party that has so many tenets that are adverse to the will of your God, then you need to rethink your position and stop grieving the Holy Spirit, however this is between you and God. God has never, nor will He ever change. He is the same Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Grieve not His Holy Spirit.

God has laid down laws. God is loving and God is forgiving, but, not for people who will not bend to his will and ask for forgiveness and turn away from their sin. In the end all will confess the name of Jesus Christ and that will not be enough to save them! Read the story of the Rich man and Lazarus. Look at the torment the rich man received and he begged for God to allow Lazarus to just dip the tip of his finger in water and let it drip onto his tongue and God denied him this….so will he deny all those who stand with those who do not follow his will and live in sin. I was a Democrat my whole adult life, but, I had to turn away because of what they stand for. People hate anyone that speaks the truth bluntly and direct. People want someone that will bend, break, and beat around the bush as to what they mean. That implies that they are buyable. People want someone that owes them a favor. Trump is none of that, that I can tell. I have people hate on me because I am direct and blunt with the truth. Does not win me any favor or friends, but the truth is the truth. I believe illegals should be deported and not rewarded with ANY benefits. See truthful, blunt. Deal with it. More than likely those “Christians” you mentioned are some of the ones referred to in the Bible to whom God will say “Depart from me”. Great article! Many denominational churches are little more than social clubs, patronizing and turning a blind eye to sin so they can keep members. Trump has done more for Christians than any president, ever, and Christians have to learn that sometimes you have to fight. The devil also knows the scriptures. What would Jesus do? If you claim to be a Christian and claim to be Democrat, you have not clearly understood one or the other. You either don’t understand what a christian is or do not know the democratic platform you endorse.
President Trump may not be refined but he is our President and he supports (for the most part), biblical values. No one, in the Democratic leadership can say the same regarding biblical values.
The democratic platform has become increasingly socialistic as well. If you continue to elect such candidates, you will lose freedom. Big government leads to oppression. If you find it difficult to be a christian now, wait until this new wave of socialism takes root in our society.

I was never into politics, most of my family in the past were for the Democratic Party, and even voted as such, except for me and my brothers. In the preliminaries, I didn’t like too many of the candidates that were running, especially Trump. However, as it dwindled down to Trump and Hillary, God began revealing something in my heart and I began searching while paying close attention to each of the candidates and their views. As I dug deeper, God lead me to several Christian men who had and were currently receiving revelation about this next upcoming election. I was amazed on how God was guiding me and opening my eyes to the last two runner up for the Presidency, even sharing with family, especially my husband’s side of the family, as to the understanding God was instilling in my heart. I remember one day my father also visiting and showing him a video I had come across during my search where it revealed that Trump would be the next 45th President; my mother however did not seem interested and remained in the kitchen doing what she was doing. Sadly to say, my dad voted for Hilary due to mother and sisters’ influences. Finally, Election Day came, my husband and I would not miss watching the world! As I had never seen so much tension between the social media and the people. Although God had led me to voting for Trump, there was a tiny doubt in my mind that Hillary would win due to the media’s boasting and strong inclination towards her. When the final moment came in announcing the winner, my jaw dropped opened and couldn’t believe what my ears were hearing as they made the announcement that Trump was our next President. I felt an exhilaration, but also a tiny guilt at the same time for doubting, as God had been revealing it to me for almost 8 months prior. What a spiritual lesson learned for me. I asked immediate forgiveness for that spec of doubt, and gave praises and thanks to God for what I had just witnessed! With assurance I can say “for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God”—and Him alone.
Hey Rick, I have to take issue with two things. The most important is your logic. It does not follow that because I oppose Mr. Trump’s decisions and behaviors that I must therefore hate him. Believers are not allowed to ‘hate our enemies’ as you well know, but do not assume every opposition is playing into the hands of the Enemy. Second, your opinions are your opinions, but they are not self-evident truths.
For example, as every Medicare and Social Security recipient knows, a little socialism is a good thing. The dark side of both socialism and capitalism are limited when those tho things compete with each other. There are no virtuous political parties.

I can understand how a new Christian might vote for a Democrat candidate. Becoming knowledgeable about Scripture doesn’t happen overnight. I cannot emphasize enough about the importance of becoming a student of the Bible, both of the Old and New Testaments. I am of the opinion that, if a person has thoroughly studied the Scriptures, it should become crystal clear that the platform of the Democrat Party does not align with God’s Word. When some things are believable, people put out others to flame the fire. We, as Christians should be careful and fact check articles, and not put out information we are not sure of. The leaders of many of these churches have pastors that were part of President Obama’s Pastors Counsel to talk their congregants into disarming and going to fema camps, if Marshal Law was called; I have read they also were to turn in the names of people in their churches that were too committed to the Lord, or the Holy Scriptures. When I pray and ask God what He thinks about a candidate and who He wants, that is enough for me. I did that. He was very specific about Donald Trump. I listened and obeyed. God showed me what would happen if I hadn’t obeyed. I’m sure glad I did! Obedience is better than sacrifice.
I prayed when Obama was up for election in 2008. The Lord let me know about him, all about him; even his stance about Israel, though my landlord in Israel didn’t believe that. The Lord told me then that He would give the US Obama because they loved Mammon more than Him. I did not vote for Obama, ever. I’m sure glad I didn’t!

Any discerning Christian should be able to see that Trump was chosen for this hour and should be praying for him instead of condemning him. There is no excuse for the spiritually blind. I have many friends…most agree with me politically, but I do have some very close to me who defend the Democrat positions…I, too, grew up as a Democrat, but have NEVER voted for anyone in that party for President, etc. when I saw for myself how disrespectful and despicable Nancy Pelosi and here parade of House snd Senators treated Kavanaugh, William Barr, etc….I marched myself down to the courthouse and changed my party affiliation (although I rarely voted the Democrat ticket…I just did NOT want to be affiliated with that self righteous bunch!)

I think the bottom line to remember here is that according to the Bible (Psalms, Daniel, Romans and elsewhere) God says that He raises up the leaders for His purposes and He takes them down. And to resist them, whether they fit our moral requirements or not, is to resist God. As a Christian, I laughed when I heard Trump was running. I thought the whole idea was ridiculous. But the more I set my prejudices aside and really listened to what he was saying about his goals for our country, my laughter turned to amazement. Was I really hearing what I thought I was? Did he really want to do such good things? Could God use this very unlikely candidate to do His bidding? Then he got elected and I had my answers. Yes, for whatever reason, God had chosen to use Trump to lead our country. And according to the Bible, it was now my job to get on board and not resist the man that God wanted to use. And that is the job of anyone who calls themselves a Christian. Our job is not to just believe the Bible, not to just go to church and hear it preached, but to live it out everyday, even if it’s hard. That’s the mark of a true Christian. If we are resisting the man God raised up, we are not living out what the Bible says. Period.

I also do not believe that we have gone to war primarily for righteous causes since World War II. The point I was making is that individual Christians have vastly differing opinions based on life experiences. I was in Ukraine adopting some of our sons when I heard news of the U.S. election results. I was shocked Trump won, bit if Clinton had, I probably would have decided to live in Ukraine! I just felt it important to show how passionately diverse born-again believers can be. And … well, I don’t understand your comment about “born again” souls fighting. I pray my son never has to take orders that violate his conscience before God. Our military is not perfect… they are known for having agendas. Like going to war under false pretenses. Not voting is the same as voting for someone. You can either support and vote for man “A” or man “B”. It’s our responsibility as Christians to exercise that God given authority.
If man “B” violates all tenant of Proverbs 6:16-19 and man “A” doesn’t and you fail to vote for man “A”, that is effectively a vote for man “B”.

Good points, Michael. I think I became more disillusioned when we began to see a lack of good candidates. I no longer vote, but “outside the sanctuary” I do things that I believe God shows me to do that effect change. For instance, I think being at the front lines in the abortion battle means being at the place where the murders are taking place and sharing the Gospel, offering help and pleading with mothers and fathers to understand there is a child’s life involved. The ministry I’m working with has documented 151 babies saved alive in the past 2 years. Also many parents and passersby have come to salvation in Christ. We are seeing real lives changed. For me, politics is a smoke-and-mirrors game to distract. I’m neither Republican or Democrat and I simply choose to not be involved because I no longer believe any of it matters. I don’t believe there is anything in the Bible obligating us to vote. To pray for our country, yes — and the world — to intercede and stand in the gap for sin, repenting for our nation.

I have been a Christian for more then 55 years. I understand why some Christians hate Trump. In the first debate he turned me off. However, I had to understand who he was and what he was doing. Up to then our country was being run by progressive liberals who had an agenda. They succeed in getting God and prayer out of the schools. They were on their way to creating a socialistic and Godless country. They created a left leaning a Supreme Court. There was no one who had the backbone to standup to them until Trump entered the race. He was on the offensive from day one opposed them. He was terse and outright nasty. But I understood what he was doing. He loved our country and he was going to do whatever it took to “drain the swamp”. I got one strongly believe that God put him in office. He was no saint but his heart was right and he was perfect for the job. There is no doubt that President Trump has fought and made changes that have had an positive effect on this country. The liberals attack him on a daily basis and are still trying to impeach him, but he remains in office and is creating positive change. For those who still hate him, make you vote for him as a vote against the ungodly candidate and party.

I find it unbelievable to be a Christian and a Democrat! Today President Trump is at the UN talking about freedom of Religion. He is a man who takes communion and feels cleansed. He is pro life where Democrats are both anti God and pro abortion. They voted 3 times to take God out of their platform. He is a President who prays before important meetings, and they have even had gospel singers for the members of congress. He has a faith based group including Franklin Graham who pray for him on a daily basis. I don’t know how there could be any real Republicans who do not support and pray for our President.

Thank your voicing again the truth we know from the Scriptures. God can use anyone He chooses for His plans. We do not know for sure President Trump’s salvation, but we do know He loves God’s people and his country. He has been willing to stand for what is right concerning life and even though we might not like his sometimes vulgar or cruel adjectives and tweets we need to pray for him everyday and thank God that He gave us this second chance to chang our ways and become that light on the hill for other nations.
I believe you made many great points. As a Christian hatred shouldn’t have a place in our hearts. I did not vote for Trump, and do not plan to in the upcoming election. My issue is his ability to be so openly derogatory, dismissive, and even discriminatory to people. When you openly make fun of people with disabilities that crosses a line. The constant “looking down” on all other nationalities and or cultures in America is something I can not condone. For me, that is number one.

The holy scriptures are riddled with people God Almighty used vigorously to accomplish His ways and means who were Pagan, non Believers, Idolators, etc. The point is they never remained that way for long under God’s tutelage and use.
I personally am so exhausted with teeny-weeny Christian thinkers and complainers. The truth is most of you out there who dislike or hate Trump but claim your superior Christian status are just put off by his NY, NY demeanor and most probably his ability to amass personal wealth. He grates upon your theatrical Christian sensibilities & nerves due to his basic approach. You types have to have someone in Presidential office that “tickles” your ears, with something new all the time, something in order to make you “feel” better and to “feel” as if they know what they’re doing when they don’t.

The Holy Spirit told me to vote for him early on when he was running as I was going to vote for someone else whom I considered to be a really strong Christian. I was amazed that the Holy Spirit would want me to vote for Trump, but I obeyed and boy, am I glad I did! Everytime I turn around he has done something more wonderful. I know that the Lord is working through him and he is really blessing our nation with Donald Trump. But we need to educate believers on how to recognize these dangerous doctrines of demons as they will cause untold damage to those who do not posses the knowledge and discernment to recognize this drivel. In late October 2016 I was having a discussion with a pastor friend. I told him that we as voters could vote for Trump and there was a chance he would be a bad choice and not be up to the job. On the other hand, a vote for Hillary Clinton was a deliberately anti-Christian and outright malicious condoning of overt corruption, lies, and prideful sin. God worked His miracle and pardoned us, the US.
In light of this, those who hate President Trump are effectively saying they would prefer we were led by the evil Clinton cabal with all of its evil baggage, including its trail of bodies bathed in mystery and lies. If you are a true follower of Jesus Christ and believe that the whole Bible is the Word of God there are people that will love you and people that will hate you just as it happened to Jesus. He came to earth and it caused division. That will never end until He returns. I would not be a member of a church if it did not believe as a body in that the Bible was not totally Truth. Any deviation from the Truth of God’s Word eliminates the belief in the Word because God said it was all true. I am a Republican because of the Republican Party’s stance on the morals of the Word of God. I have not found a political organization that get’s closer to the rule of the Bible than the Republicans. If I did I would join them. I cannot be a Democrat because of the Democratic Party’s stance on the morals of the Word of God. If God led me to be a Democrat but hold to the truths of His Word then I would obey. He would not have me become a Democrat and not hold to the morals of His Word. Therefore, either way I can not and will not vote for any politician that does not hold to the morals of the Bible. Donald Trump is not a politician and does not play well with the opposition as politicians in general do. I don’t like his tweets, he is many times rude and if you don’t work with him well you will be fired. I have come to the point that I like him more and more because he does not play games as politicians have done for years and years. And, the more the Democratic Party hates him the more I like him. But, now our freedoms are in jeopardy because of the Democratic Party. They want to take away guns, the first step towards dictatorship. They promise free healthcare, free college, free abortion, free this and free that. Nothing is free and the money will come out of everyone’s paycheck. Socialistic countries have 50% to 80% tax rates on the people to pay for everything. People are being duped by the word “free”. Not me. Government with that kind of control means they can control the people any way they want and the first control that they will do is on Christianity as I have already seen many of them throw their hate at us. Is the government corrupt? Yes. I just have to follow the least corrupt group I see and that right now is them Republican Party and that could change at any point. I hope when the time comes that I have the strongest faith in my life if I am told to deny Jesus or have my head cut off. If they cut of my head or execute me because of Jesus I will be in glory. The Bible says we will be persecuted for our stance with the Word of God and it is happening before our eyes in the United States. I made no such accusation whatsoever. I simply stated that “Christians” who don’t attend church were equally responsible for the lack of Evangelical voter turnout for the midterm elections as those who do attend. Period. Somehow, you read that as an indictment against people who worship God who don’t physically go to a church building. Again, bewildered to say the least.
Whether or not you want to believe that the lack of Evangelical voter turnout was or was not responsible for the Democrats taking control of the House of Representatives is your prerogative. It was a critical election, and yes the Evangelical voters could have made the difference if they had acted upon the urgency of maintaining Republican majority in the U.S. H.R., thus preventing the current kangaroo coup that is being executed as I write.

My president, Donald Trump or anyone else is not a christian because they decide to do better and do good works. We are christian only through belief on Jesus Christ. Let me go a step farther, to become a christian is not a simple decision. Romans, 10-13, Whosoever shall call upon the name Lord shall be saved. When Jesus told the woman at the well to go and call (phoned) to simply sound out to someone, like hey pastor, I’m ready to become a christian. The word call in Romans 10-13 in the Greek is ep-ee-kal-eh-om-ahee, ref. Strongs concordance. To begin with, anybody can see this is a very complicated word. Next means to cry out when there appears to be no other way. This same cry appears many times in the old and new testament. Ex. 2-23, Jonah 2-2, 2nd Kings 20-1-6, Math. 14-30.
